Biography

STASH steps onto the Hollywood scene with a presence. The girl DJ duo of Steph and Amanda has combined the concept of House music with originally written and produced Pop music. STASH has built a fan base both in their LA backyard, and across the country as their music, DJing, and live performance is rolled out to consumers.

Part live performance and part spectacle the duo bring a fresh perspective to the electro – pop genre to create a style that is uniquely their own. STASH is a multi-media force smashing boundaries to grab the spotlight as part of a new breed of Pop/DJ artists.

Not only are their personalities larger than life, but these beauties project an unstoppable energy. Steph, a pop songwriter, is the rapper in the duo making sure to never slow down her swag. Combining her advanced skills in production with her passion for DJing (RedBull Spring Break, Sundance and SXSW), Steph keeps the party music going so the club-goers dance till the sun comes up. Amanda, who is a classically trained singer with a background in Opera, has lent her vocals to many genres, from Opera, to RnB and Rap. A veteran in the industry for both her writing and singing, Amanda stands out as power vocals of her generation. These girls display a real authenticity as they take their professional experience and personal encounters into the club music life.

When Steph and Amanda joined forces, STASH started working with producer Nick James, whose credits include arranging and producing on Justin Bieber’s Under The Mistletoe. The EP also features tracks produced and co-written by David Kidd and STASH’s current musical director Nick Annis. “STASH is a breath of fresh air on the pop/dance scene. With all the energy they have I know they will leave an impression on everyone who meets them.” Nick James (Producer)

“When I first met STASH I really liked their vibe, I liked their music. And they look like Pop Stars. They have the entire package.” David Kidd (Producer).

STASH’s throbbing; lady-empowering “Strip Me Bare” debuted on the breakout list of the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart in May 2015, and made the leap to the Billboard chart at #49 (published 6/6/15). The Cutmore dance remix has been well received and is being played in dance clubs across the country.

The duo’s infectious single – the “lousy ex-boyfriend”- inspired anthem “Tear Me Down” reached #30 on the Nielson/BDS Top 40 Indicator Chart. Sirius XM Venus (Ch. 3) added “Tear Me Down” to their playlist in March 2015 and STASH resided in the top 5 on the Mediabase Top 40 Pop Independent Label/Artist Most Active rankings for 10 weeks Spring 2015, was in the top 10 for over 20 weeks. Two remixes of the original track have been released – one by Made Monster (Melbourne bounce electro house), and the other by Danny Olson (progressive house).

Another STASH track–the party anthem “Red Cup! Pinky Up” achieved #21 on the BEATPORT PRO POP list (May 2015). It has been remixes by DJ Mike D.

“It’s awesome we get to merge our two passions of performing live music and DJing together. We also get to merge our two favorite styles of music, Pop and EDM. I love to create mash ups and it exposes us to so many different types of artists who inspire us to create something fresh and unique when we go to write our own songs,” says Steph Prost.

“It’s exciting to be a part of a music movement that has been emerging for decades. Now is the eruption. I love that radio has accepted and intertwined with Dance music. What better combination than for us to write the music, perform it, and DJ it. Hey world, here we come.” said Amanda.

In November, 2014, STASH scored a Hollywood Music In Media Award (HMMA) in the Electronic Dance Music (EDM) category for “Strip Me Bare,” while “Red Cup! Pinky Up” scored a nomination in the Dance category. STASH was selected one of MUSIC CONNECTION MAGAZINE’S 2014 HOT 100 Independent artists.

During SXSW 2015, the duo performed a showcase set at UPROXXHOUSE and was also the official DJ for the Samsung Lounge before setting off on a Spring Break Tour in Texas and Florida, which included DJ gigs, live performances, and a combination of the two.
